PLUMBERS GLOVES
PROTECTING PLUMBERS FROM POTENTIALLY
HAZARDOUS MATERIALS
Plumbers Gloves are the
first-line of defense against the risks of health and safety that
may be encountered in Plumbing tasks such as drain-cleaning ( waste
pipe, traps and drains ), as well as servicing medical, dental or
laboratory facilities, or specific Plumbing tasks and procedures
that may place the Plumber at risk of coming into contact with
infectious material and chemicals. Awareness of occupational
exposure and proper prevention is key to staying healthy on the
job.
With so many biological risks out there - known
and unknown - it only makes sense to increase the protection of
Plumbers with the best disposable Plumbers gloves available.
Plumbing professionals choose UniSeal® High Risk
Plumbers gloves for protection they can count on.
PROPER PROTECTION
OSHA states "Employees exposed to safety and health
hazards should wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as
Gloves, to be protected from exposure to those hazards," said
Assistant Secretary of Labor for OSHA.
The protection offered by disposable Plumbers
gloves, referred to as its barrier effectiveness, is the ability of
the gloves to withstand viral penetration. Disposable Plumbers
Gloves that pass Viral Penetration Tests (ASTM1671D) provide an
effective barrier against bloodborne pathogens, and other
infectious materials as mandated by the Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) (510-K Certified), the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration
(OSHA) and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and
Health (NIOSH).
YOUR CHOICE........
High Risk Level Protection
Ultra High Risk ( 15mil 12" cuff ) medical gloves are recommended for applications in which a high level of protection is required. With their extended 12" cuff and added thickness they offer maximum protection.
GLOVE
SELECTION
It is also important to select the proper type of
disposable Plumber Gloves for each type of plumbing task. While all
UniSeal® Plumbers Gloves pass Viral Penetration Tests
(ASTM1671D), the gloves only maintain effective barrier protection
as long as they are intact. Latex Gloves and Nitrile Gloves have
tensile strengths typically in the range of 17 to 28 MPa and are
recommended in applications where gloves are worn for a longer
period of time or exposed to greater stress and risks. The thicker
the glove material the greater the resistance to chemicals or
mechanical damage.
Nitrile Plumbers Gloves also have additional
chemical barrier properties that give them an advantage when
handling certain hazardous materials or chemicals.
