TATTOO GLOVES
PREVENTING DISEASE TRANSMISSION IN
TATTOOING
Medical Grade Tattoo
Gloves are the first-line of defense for Tattoo and Body piercing
artists who are exposed to blood, bodily fluids and possible blood
borne pathogens. There are certain practices that must be followed
during tattoo and body piercing procedures to ensure the safety of
the artist, the client and anyone else who may come in contact with
the contaminated materials.
OSHA and the CDC have laid out the
Universal or Standard Precautions guidelines that are required by
federal law to be followed by Tattoo and Piercing artists in
regulated areas. "Employees exposed to safety and health hazards
should wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as Gloves, to
be protected from exposure to those hazards," said Assistant
Secretary of Labor for OSHA.

UniSeal® Nitrile Tattoo Gloves are
made from 100% soft blue Synthetic NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber),
a synthetic compound that's completely latex-free and powder-free. Non-Latex Nitrile gloves do not
contain allergy-causing proteins, therefore they can provide an
excellent alternative for people who experience latex sensitivity
and have the potential for adverse allergic reactions associated
with latex protein.
The soft Nitrile
Tattoo glove material reacts to your body temperature and conforms
to the shape of your hands making them exceptionally snug. So you
get a cool, dry, precise fit, with far less hand fatigue. Nitrile
material also has a naturally low coefficient of friction, making
them easy to don (put on). They also have a Micro-Textured finish
providing a more secure grip.
PROTECTION
The protection offered by
disposable Medical Grade Tattoo gloves, referred to as its barrier
effectiveness, is the ability of the tattoo gloves to withstand
viral penetration. Disposable Medical Tatto Gloves that pass Viral
Penetration Tests (ASTM1671D) provide an effective barrier against
bloodborne pathogens, and other infectious materials as mandated by
the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention (CDC), the Occupational Safety and Health
Administration (OSHA) and the National Institute for Occupational
Safety and Health (NIOSH).
