Cannabis Growers

the Protection of their Workers

As operations shift from illegal marijuana growing operations (MGOs) to legal agriculture operations, there is a need to understand the impact on workers, for cultivation, harvesting, trimming, processing, handling, and inspecting cannabis products. The worker safety and health hazards of MGOs will be under the changing Federal EPA regulations of Agricultural Worker Protection Standard for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that took effect in 2017, and will be a very important consideration for any large scale Cannabis Grower. Included in these new regulations are the use of “Medical Grade Disposable gloves” to prevent skin contact during cutting and harvesting operations to reduce the risk of dermal exposure to THC, pesticides and fertilizers.
